5 ways to make the most of London in the sun

As the weather gets better in London, my incentive to actually leave the house (without dressing up  like the michelin man) increases and my desire to spend my time outside (and away from the comfort of my blankets and heated home) also increases. So, I thought it’d be fun to write my 5 favourite things to do in London as the weather becomes bearable and the sun starts shining.

Go for Brunch
Now okay, yes you can do this whatever the time of year, however when spring comes knocking you can enjoy a cute Sunday brunch with your girlfriends outside; sitting in the garden area of Chiltern Firehouse or The ivy whilst sipping on champagne and eating healthy (or unhealthy) brunches. This is definitely one of my favourite past-times as the weather gets better, there’s nothing quite like sitting outside with the fresh air when the weather gets better!

Walk down the High-streets
Shopping, shopping, shopping! Picture ‘Sex and the City’ mixed with ‘Confessions of a Shopaholic’ and you have another one of my favourite spring time activities. Again, of course you can shop during the cold winter months (the cold definitely doesn’t stop me from shopping) however when the weather warm’ens, you can actually bare walking down King’s Road and Marylebone high-street without catching a cold. There is nothing I enjoy more than walking down the gorgeous streets of King’s Road and Marylebone high-street in the sunny weather browsing in my favourite stores and walking along the somehow tranquil streets with absolutely no rush to get out of the cold weather!

Walks in the Park
London has some of the most beautiful parks and grounds you could wish for, with lots of green and pretty blossom the parks don’t get much better than during the Spring time. Some of my favourites of course include ‘Hyde Park’ (that is a convenient distance to Harrods!), ‘Primrose Hill’ that gives you such a gorgeous view over the city, especially during the sunset and if you want a more quaint and secluded park there is ‘Hanover Square’ which is just off of Regent Street (and opposite the Vogue House!).

The Chelsea Flower Show
Whilst this is a lot like a ‘walk in the park’, this is just so much more! One of London’s most coveted events, where you can see the grounds of the Royal Hospital Chelsea transformed with stunning displays of flowers. Buy tickets and you can have a relaxing wander through the award winning floral designers work, ‘ooing’ and ‘ahhing’ and the crazy amazing designs.

Go to a Museum
Last of all, my favourite thing to do in London during the Spring weather, is to go to the V&A. Again, I’ll happily go to the V&A whatever the time of year as it is my favourite museum in London yet something about going when the weather is warmer makes it so much nicer. Maybe it’s because you get to sit outside and enjoy the garden facilities after having a wander around or maybe it’s because South Kensington looks so gorgeous in the sun – full of blossom trees and sunny streets.

Overall, whatever the weather, these are such fun things to do yet there’s nothing quite like doing them during the Spring weather!
